QY STRING was founded by Qing Y Huang, a graduate of the Newark School of Violin Making located in the UK. In 1991, he went on to work for Ealing Strings, a renowned violin shop based in London. During his time at Ealing Strings, he studied under Michael J. Taylor, a bow maker famous throughout the UK. Huang moved to Canada in 1995 and was later employed in 1996 as a workshop manager by the Toronto branch of Shar Music, a US company recognized as the leading supplier of string instruments and related items in North America. With over 20 years of experience in violin making and repair, Huang has accumulated vast understanding and excellent skills as a luthier. His proficiency in his craft has gradually earned him recognition, as seen by his interviews with OMNI News TV, Huaxia Finance(US), and the Sing Tao Newspaper(Canada).
